Understanding your individual carbon impacts is important; not only for realizing your individual contribution to the global climate crisis, but for also developing meaningful individual and community level carbon reduction and\u00a0 management strategies.\n\nGenerally, carbon is broken down into the following four categories\n<ul>\n \t<li>Transportation<\/li>\n \t<li>Heating and cooling homes<\/li>\n \t<li>Food<\/li>\n \t<li>Good and services (your stuff)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n \t<li>Using a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carbonindependent.org\/\">carbon footprint calculato<\/a>r, calculate your personal carbon footprint. We recommend <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carbonindependent.org\/\">https:\/\/www.carbonindependent.org\/<\/a>, but you can use a carbon footprint generator of your choice, just be sure to cite it in your report.<\/li>\n \t<li>Outline your footprint by category (energy use, travel, food, etc.) in your report and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/270508\/co2-emissions-per-capita-by-country\/\">compare it to the global situation by country<\/a>.<\/li>\n \t<li>What changes could you make in your daily life to reduce your carbon footprint by 5%, 10%, and 25%?<\/li>\n \t<li>Did anything about generating your personal carbon footprint surprise you?
